And with that, the winter passed by
Happy new year and happy exam season.
Many things have happened since I last write here. Here? Well, it’s a new domain and a new github repo, so it’s technically not the same place. Anyway I’ll spare you the technicalities… but I’m starting to think I like web designing better than I like writing.
School
However, I’ve been writing more these days. Writing academic papers, which I’m not complaining about. Actually, even though the research stresses me out, it has been a fulfilling journey. Especially since I really wanted to write about GovTech and managed to do it— it feels like a dream come true and end of an era.
It is amazing how life turned out. When I resigned from my previous job, I really wanted to join GovTech because of several reasons but one of team I thought it would look good on my profile as I had been trying to apply for graduate school. Anyone applying for graduate school know that it is a self-searching process in itself, at least that’s how it was for me. Well, it was expected since my goal was studying master’s abroad— without knowing what was it I want to do with my life. After several cycles of LPDP, multiple drafts of essays, I think I knew what I want and could formulate it nicely in an essay. In the end, pursuing a master’s degree led me to quit after such memorable years.
I’m doing my best here while still enjoying life. My younger self would be thrilled to know if we’re finally in this stage of life. I honestly think it’s a great timing by God because I am experienced enough to travel solo, saved up enough money to enjoy life a bit more, and I’ve graduated from early-mid 20s nonsense. It’s really a good time in my life, while watching the world burns.

Winter
Winter was surprisingly short in Belgium. In total, we had two weeks of cold and snow. That’s good enough for me, at least I could take pictures in and of the snow. Now, in mid January, it felt warmer and probably spring will come early.
Before coming here, I was afraid of seasonal affective disorder (SAD). However, as I’m typing this, I’m trying to hide from the sun coming through my room. It is true that Belgium is mostly cloudy, but these days we get a lot of sun, so I’m grateful about that.
These songs are in my rotation, heavily. I have just discovered Olivia Dean (yes, late I know so shut up) and been missing NewJeans. The news about Danielle and the cunning Hybe trigger me every time I open my timeline.
To end this post, I’m sharing these pictures of the short and sweet snowfall in Belgium.
